Long Awaited Loop 1604 Flyover Ramp is Finally Open

New overpass gives drivers a direct connection from westbound I-10 onto eastbound Loop 1604

The project aimed to alleviate congestion and improve traffic flow in the area.The ramp is expected to ease travel for thousands of commuters and reduce travel times. 

 

The completion of this flyover ramp represents a significant step in addressing the growing transportation needs of the region.

Loma Park Elementary  recently held a Walk & Bike to School Day event, encouraging students and families to prioritize health and safety.

The event aimed to promote physical activity, reduce traffic congestion around the school, and improve air quality.

Students were accompanied by staff, volunteers, and local law enforcement officers as they walked or biked to school.

Community Generosity Shines in Big Give San Antonio Sets Record and Raises over $6.1 Million in 2025

The Big Give San Antonio 2025 wrapped up another successful year of community generosity, reinforcing its place as a key fundraising initiative for nonprofits across South Central Texas. 

 

Now in its twelfth year, the Big Give has collectively generated more than $50 million since its inception in 2014. The event is organized by The Nonprofit Council.

 

Scott McAninch, CEO of The Nonprofit Council, noted the importance of match minutes, where donor contributions were matched dollar for dollar until funds were exhausted. 

 

This year’s Big Give was marked by increased urgency and impressive results, demonstrating the strength of grassroots philanthropy in the region.
